Yeah, I know you guys are probably sick of this stuff but this was our first gig as a band and my first on stage - so was pretty excited (though you can't tell by looking at me).

We played for free and the event raised $1800 for a Haitian orphanage.

          Thanks guys.

Not bored at all, the face is a combination of concentration, fear and excitement. I was a bundle of nerves.

That's my stick bag hanging off the front of the kit. Luckily I didn't drop any sticks during the performance.

            one question

Neil, Congrats on your gig and great pic!

But be honest. Were ya naked back there? Were you like Jon Fishman and wearing a dress?

Seriously, tho, the rack does provide a cool place for a banner of some kind.

            Anybody using a banner?

Soething like "The Scared ****less Trio" - now that has kind of a ring to it.

My Spanish is a little rusty. Would that be "Tres Turdless Ombres"?

That's a great though about the banner. Something we also considered briefly but were too lazy to impliment.

Concerning feeling naked - I certainly felt less exposed with the stick bag in front of me.

I'm sure I looked a bit like a disembodied head on stage as most of the kit is black, the background was black, my shirt was black and my sticks were black except for the white nylon tips. Great way to blend in.......

I'm always happy to see someone else using the V-Clubs on stage! I'm glad it went well for you. I occasionally put some kind of decoration in front of the rack (once I put a steer skull there) when we're playing, depending on the gig, and I've even wrapped the rack in sound-activated rope lights on occasions, just for the fun of it.

                        Nice

                        Yo Neil,

Nice to see one of us playing in public. Like the stealth drummer concept too.

I'm too insecure to play without hardware in front of me, which is why I converted an old set of A's instead of getting a pad kit. And in truth, I have yet to use 'em in public.

Can't seem to give up the DW's.

                          VDrum Live Pics

Hello all, I'm relatively new to this forum however here is a pic of me using the Vdrums live last summer at an open air gig. The VDrums were wonderful.....pity I wasn't.

I'm really enjoying the VDrums and find this forum a great source of information and help. I've just ordered a Hart ECymbalII HH so I'd be interested to hear about peoples experiences with the Hart kit. CJude has been a great source of information and kindly gave me some advice......so thanks publicly.

Rythmstik: Yeah, rope lights would be very cool. Definitely keeps the attention on you.

Old_Guy: If you recall, many months ago you shared with me some advice on getting a sound system together. In the end, we found a used Mackie 24/4 VLZ board, an old 300W amp (weighs like 70lbs!!!) and couple of rack effects. We also got a couple of 18" Cerwin Vega folded horn subs. We didn;t really want them, but the price was right. Now we just need a set of full range speakers and a crossover. I also bought a Peavey KB300 for home use.
