  • Extra bass drum and guitar effects!

i'm looking to get a kd-7 for extra bass drum sounds, i presume i can use the splitter cable from inputs 1/2, and just change the bank to the relevant pedal?

And this weekend it will be boss pedal weekend!!! I have a phaseshifter/delay and a distortion pedal the whack through my mixer on the snare or bass, or something, or everthing!!

Anyone got any tips and tricks for using guitar effects?

The few times I've tried them (pitch shifter, digital delay, chorus, etc.) the results were pretty cruddy. The pedal does an AtoD conversion at a somewhat lower sample rate so the result is quite a lot of distortion. Then again, I wasn't running them through the effects path of a mixer, so your results may vary.

Try this for fun - connect the direct out (L, R, or both) of the module to an effect pedal input and the output of the effect to the Mix In of the module (its a stereo TRS input so you might need a mono to stereo adapter if you are using both master outputs). Then only the pads you assign to the direct outs will be effected.
      Direct out = effect send
      Mix in = effect return.

I have my snare and bass coming out of D_L and D_R respectively, just so that i can effect them seperately. I've tried plugging the effects in before they go to the mixer, and also in the Aux_send/return of the mixer, non of it sounded brilliant, although the delay/pitchshifter is fun. It was an advantage plugging it through the desk because you still get some of the clean sound depending on how much effects you put into the mix.

The problems was with the rest of the kit coming through two other stereo channels when i lower the aux send so that that part of the kit is not affected i really lose a lot of volume on the rest of the kit and have to have those channels up full to even hear them. I'm not very experienced with the mixer, so i'm sure i'll figure it out in a short while. Its ace just for the added eq and gain!!
