Yup.

1. Bass Drum
2. Snare
3. Toms (all set to the same level)
4. Hi-Hat
5. Ride Cymbal
6. Crash 1
7. Crash 2
8. Auxiliaries (splashes, etc)

This gives nearly perfect control to the engineering mixing later.

I also push a headphone mix out for monitoring.

I put all 8 outs into my AW4416:

1. Bass Drum panned hard left
2. Snare panned hard right
3. Toms in stereo
4. Toms in stereo
5. Ride Cymbal panned hard left
6. Hi Hat panned hard right
7. Crash 1 panned hard left
8. Crash 2 panned hard right

and I still have 8 inputs for everyone else.

I do the same as Space Ace, except I put my aux pads (cymbals) into a pair of outs along with the crashes, all panned in stereo. That gives me 8 cymbals total (4 pads/rims) going stereo, then hihat and ride separate on others..

Worked well the few times I've done it.. For the record, I still have yet to setup everything listed for my equipment at the same time..

For the smaler gig's that we can do with our own PA, I use two outputs

For the bigger gigs:
1. Bass
2. Snare
3. Hihat
4. Toms 1 and 2
5. Toms 3 and 4
6. Crash 1
7. Crash 2
8. Ride

Peter, do you find you need to adjust the 1-2 and 3-4 toms separately from each other on a gig? I find panning them in stereo and just bringing the stereo pair's level up and down together works better and gives a better image.. Or are you running mono with your sound system?

Hi Shep,

Well, we have a soundguy that works with us for all our bigger gigs.
What he really wants is seperate volume control on all the 4 toms. The TD-10 has only 8 outputs, so I separate Tom 1 and 2 from Tom 3 and 4. This way the sounguy has 50% of what he wants.
On the mainboard of the PA, Tom 1 and 2 are panned a little to the left and Tom 3 and 4 a little to the right.

Under the mixer section you have an output screen, and a pan screen. Decide what you want seperate from the rest of the kit, and put them on a different output, 2 pads to an output. Then for each of those 2 pads pan 1 hard left, and the other hard right and Voila!, 8 individual mono outs from the 4 stereo outs. With the toms, I have the 4 of them all set to the same output and left the pan setting alone so they come across in stereo, everything else is panned on the recorder, or at the sound board.

One thing to watch out for is that the FX and ambient (I think)sound returns are only routed to the master outputs on the TD10.

This should get you started.
