  • Would you reply to this guy?

. . . and if so - would you be polite?!

I really wonder whether there were many takers!

    Hi Andy,

He's not very particular is he?

I mean, not only dictatorial but styleist, ageist, unemployed and obviously an extremely talented individual ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Don't you just wish you could join his band? I don't think I could be polite if I replied.

Hi,i agree with hercules.Id say he would not be easy to please or easy to get along with, but you never know.I played for a demanding guy(lord tim) and he goes through muso's like a loaf of bread.Brilliant but very demanding,i hate a guitar player who cant play drums telling me how to play. But comment on his playing and your out...lol

"You must be the type of person who literally falls asleep on the drumkit."

I think I qualify for one of his thirty requirements. What's the compensation package? (apres-hibernation )

I'll take up for the guy...

He is passionate and wants someone else to be as well. He is also getting everything out up front. Better to get no one than to waste your time with people that will never go anywhere.

I remember reading this and being amused.

The most obvious question would be why the last drummer left.

I read this earlier and thought it was the thing for me, until I saw the age requirement Gumtree

                Ageism, Grrrr.....
Still miss you baby, but my aim's gettin' better...

I've no doubt that his music is likely just as pretentious as his ad.
                  >>>See my E-kit here<<<

Although the guy's ad is intimidating (which is deliberate, I'm sure), it isn't rude. Also he is drum-literate. I would guess this guy has had it up to here with people who A - don't have the chops to accompany his stuff, B - are goof-offs or stoners, C - can't set their own egos aside long enough to learn what it is he is trying to put together, or D - all of the above.

Obviously the guy is a manic perfectionist, and will undoubtedly challenge your patience. If you are the least bit insecure or have any kind of chip on your shoulder about being given some pretty specific directions, then this is probably not the guy for you. If you can put up with him, you might end up with some good tracks to show for it.

I think the right person (not me ever) would warm to him after maybe 8 or 9 years and the correct medication.

However he is stating what he wants so that can be a good thing for him but not for anyone who tries and fails at this ridiculously high bench mark, Neil Peart himself i'm sure would pass on this one.

Ok, so I understand why he's doing what he's doing.

But myself, I'd just kick the snot out of him.

I see what he was trying to do...but went to far...and probably talked himself out of getting anyone to jam with him.

-No.. I wouldn't respond to him.
