  • My FTP site is down...

My FTP site will be offline for the next couple of days for minor servicing (I am getting another cable modem).

I will post again when it is ready.

I have some new photos of the cabling of my kit you ladies and gents may be interested in seeing.

    Have a good day, eh?

I see you use the .cjb re-direct. A lot of sysads block any site with .cjb in the URL due to some virus related issues a few months back. I can't get to it from where I work, for instance. Any chance of you posting the real URL?

Damn pop ups! They just started putting them on that redirect recently. I am looking for one that isn't so full of ADs.

      The real url is:

      http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~aj890/Profile.html

No everyone knows why I use the redirect!

Hope you can see my site!

My FTP Site is back online...

I got the new cable modem!

Hopefully the uploading/downloading will be a little faster now!

The online speed testing services show a marked increase in my transfer speed with the new modem.

Test your internet speed at the following websites:

          http://bos.speakeasy.net/

          http://promos.mcafee.com/speedometer/

          Have fun!

You can download the TCP optimizer from my FTP site. I tried it, it may work for you too.

If this does not work you can try the MTU (Maximum Transfer Units) registry patch (if you are using Windows 2000).

Both these items change the packet transfer limit size which may or may not increase your Internet speed (network conditions such as time of day and traffic).

            Good luck!
