  • Another variation of GAS

E-Drums are dangerous!!! If any of you have read some of my posts, you've learned that I'm an acoustic drummer who picked up an e-set for rehearsal purposes (maybe performing with the e's in the future?). In experimenting with the different sets, especially cymbals, I find myself thinking "I like the sound of that China, I wonder if I can find an acoustic China to match that sound for the a-set? Zildjian? Paiste? Sabian?" !!!! Its possible to experiment with sounds before buying the real item!!! To a degree, I've made the #50 user set imitate my a-set's sounds, so I can audition equipment on my set without leaving the house

Does Alka-Seltzer help alleviate this kind of GAS?????

          Gas?

OK all I am in the dark here. I am new to the forum, and group culture of eDrums. What in the heck does GAS refer to? I thinking Beano... But I am certain it is not that kind of GAS. Because all the letters at capitalized, it must be an acronym for something. Can't figure out what. Please explain!

            Gear Acquisition Syndrome

Stuff.... need more stuff!!!! ..... won't be happy until I have it ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!

This condition is present in drummers, acoustic or electronic. Perhaps its just that e-drummers see electrons involved and see a chance to dig deeper into physics and the Zen of drumming

                          Rich,
Yes I guess I do have GAS. AMF I am looking into a TD 20 kit. Soon as I move from the city again - acoustics again as well. And, I want to expand my studio. So, yes I have GAS - and the dog did not do it.
