It's Vater Flexi-grip for me. Smooth wood handles, non-retractible. For some reason they are the perfect weight and size. Most drum stores I went to did not have them in stock (most had a similar Regal which ended up being too heavy as far as I was concerned). Had to order them from the Drum Pad, Palatine, IL, about $ 13 I think.

I recently bought a pair of Johnny Rabb Dusters. I guess you could describe them as smooth. The bristles feel different than most other nylon bristle. More supple, smaller diameter but still manage to get a decent sound. Handle is wood but very light weight. If they weren't so light, they would be great.

MHO.... (my humble opinion)

Did a quick search and they can be found for $12.95 online
Not much of a risk at that price, though I know nothing about the merchant. Or you could give the part number to a local shop and order a set.

Here's what they look like, fwiw.
There is a list of distributors/retailers at their site: http://www.regaltip.com/linkstoothers2.html

I had the Regal Tip Clayton Cameron wire brushes and thought they were the best brushes on the planet. I'd love to find a similar brush in plastic. The local stores don't carry diddly squat and it's not the kind of thing you buy without trying. If anyone knows of a close second to these, I like to hear it.

Hi, I know you can not use wire brushes, but what plastic brushes do you guys use and like? I have the Session set.
