  • pd-125 and pd-105 question

When I get my td-12, I'd like to have something bigger as my "floor" toms. something like 3 pd-85 as the first 3 toms, a pd-105 as the first floor, and a pd-125 as the second one.
though the roland website says this:
They are also the first V-Pads with rim shot capabilities on the toms—including the actual “rim click” sound*.

*Rim triggering on toms requires TD-20 Percussion Sound Module.
Does that mean that when using the pads as toms on with a td-12, I won't get any sounds from the rims, or just not the realistic rim click sound?

a floor which is the same size as my snare? ok... I'll try... but 8 inches? god, give me something to play into!

    thanks

The rims on the TD-12 work the same as the TD-20. No worries there.

why would they say that tom triggering requires td-20 module? is it because they have not updated the page since the td-12 has came out, and this warning was for td-8 users?

and umm... are you sure about what you said?

        Rim Triggers

All toms on a TD-12 & TD-20 modules have rim triggers. You can program them to make any sound you want. From rim clicks to cowbells and beyond.

Give Roland US a chance; they're only three years out of date.

(and now they can include the TD-9 too. )

hehe... bruce, would you happen to know if 3 pd-85's will fit on the frontal horizontal bar of an mds-12 if a pd-105 + pd-125 on the side bar?

              thanks
