could anybody please, help i have just been listening to genesis, the album is called duke .the thing is i would love my drums to sound simmilar to the drums on the song behind the lines. does anybody know of any settings on my td20 i could use. i have had a tweek but just cant get it right , or is there a vex pack that i could buy that would sound similar cheers.

I haven't listened to Duke for some years, but from memory.....try the maple kit.....locker room with glass walls.....bit of reverb, bit of delay.....little bit of flanging....fair bit of top end......plastic kick beater.....coated heads.....small amount of snare buzz.....and leave out every third note so you sound like Phil Collins......

You don't, but a little punctuation here and there certainly makes it a heck of a lot easier for someone to read and understand a post. That, in turn, will make it more likely that others here will actually read the post and bother to offer feedback to help answer questions.

In a nutshell, nobody wants to read one giant run-on sentence.

No one is asking for "perfect grammer," just some basic writing skills.

Yes we are asking for perfect grammar arent we as well do we like points etc in sentences since they make it easier to read and make things less complicated btw i think i am forgetting something in my sentences but please could someone help me out because i cant seem te remember what and it is annoying me if i forget something and i cant figure out what i dont think it is spelling since i always try to do my best not to right any mistakes but it isnt always easy you know you cant forget my native tongue isnt enlish either so i am likely to make some typos but what was it i am forgetting i am sure their is something

Actually, use of a semi-colon is seen as snobbery in some circles, since a conjunction will work just as well in most cases.

The best Phil Collins drum sounds are from Selling England By the Pound, back when he was just the drummer. Abacab from their "Pop" era has some amazing drum sounds as well.

Maybe the OP's first language is Welsh. How well do you speak a Celtic language? In any case, I say he's a "hunt and peck" typist; he's not keen on seeking out punctuation keys (see, I could just have easily used and instead of the semi-colon).

EDIT: The Phil Collins stuff is from his work with Genesis. Don't care much for his solo stuff or any Genesis after Wind & Wuthering. Duke is OK, but nowhere near as adventurous or complex as the earlier stuff.

Wholeheartedly agree with you regarding "Selling England" and "Wind and Wuthering" - I would add "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" as possibly their best album.....and special mention to the song "Supper's Ready" from Foxtrot.

It always seemed like Peter Gabriel had the drumming ideas and Phil Collins did the execution. I liked the way Phil C had a semi sloppy sounding but fairly precise execution in his playing....sounds like a paradox.

I agree.. after Wind and Wuthering they started getting too commercial the early stuff was great especially Collins' drumming, he also played with a band called brand x it was more fusion instrumental. There's a copy band called The Musical Box up here in the New York area and Canada they play Genesis to perfection , they are licensed by Peter Gabriel And Genesis you should check out their website.http://www.themusicalbox.net/
