  • TD-8 help

    Hi,

I was looking to buy a TD-8 second hand next week and was wondering how much it can be expanded pad-wise.

It comes standard: 3 toms, snare, kick, hi hat and two cymbals.

I tried to read up about expanding it but couldn't find anything.

What I would like is an extra tom and two more cymbals to add to it to make 4 toms and 4 cymbals excluding hi hats.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

    Dan

There are jacks for Two crashes and 1 ride.
There are also two aux inputs that could be toms or cymbals.

So you could have 4 toms, 3 crashes and 1 ride using the normal jacks and auxes.

...and still have the Kick 2 input spare for use via a second standard insert splitter cable.

Take a look at the picture of my kit linked from my signature line and you'll get an idea of what you can cram onto a single TD-8 using splitters.

Tell me if I stupid but if you use splitter cables don't the two pads have the same sound?

Like if you had two cymbal pads coming from a spliter cable and you wanted, say a china and a crash would it be posible?

I was watching a video on youtube and it made me well confused

The TD-8 has two inputs (1/2 and 11/12) designed to be easily split for separate pads and sounds with a standard insert cable. Other inputs cannot be split for separate pads and sounds (without a special DIY circuit).
