engineer.
Good one.
Pay him and be done with it.
I used to use the son of julian hirsch from stereo review mag.
He was expensive but our system was great afterwards.
Now I don't much care though....

I'm sorry, I'll rephrase that in an intelligible fashion...
It is called Phasing. It is caused by the same signal voming from two or more sources (in this case your cabs). Sometimes, the sound waves are in phase - both at the same point in the wave, which causes reinforcement of the sound. At other points the signals are out of phase - the waves are at opposite sides of the sound wave, which causes destructive interference, i.e. dead spots. Careful positioning of your cabs will help reduce this.
Any other suggestions folks?
Schmunk

The Peavey bass bins each have a Crest V1500 bridged mono... The EV cabs are 4ohm's each and are run stereo from one of the Crowns.. The other Crown is sitting there dormant waiting for the second set of EV's to be added...(I need a trailer first, so it is gonna be just sitting there for a while)...
It seems like the bass punch is almost gone in certain areas standing on the "dance floor"... some ares it slams, others it is empty.... someone once told me there was an actual term for that, but I forget what it is.....
Never heard of powder.... do you have mp3's to listen to??

well since we are talking about the bbe... i have the bbe482 and here is what i noticed:
we run it l/r on the entire mix..... our first system consisted of 2 main cabs and 2 - 18" sub cab (which are for sale by the way)..... we were running 2 crest v1500 power amps.. the bbe made a noticable difference in that it helped with the highs a lot....
now we are running ev eliminator dual 15's and peavey 18" dual black widow bass bins per side, and also added 2 crown ce2000 power amps... now the bbe can add considerable pounding bass....those peavey cabs make concrete shake.
i think i may now have problems with phase matching (forgive me if thats the wrong term)... it seems as if the bass from the peavey cabs could be bigger in some spots... seems like the ev cabs may be screwing it up..... svook - can the bbe help that???
