  • USING PD-120 PADS WITH TD-7 MODULE

    Hello,

I have just purchased my first PD-120 pad but am still using the Roland TD-7 to drive my kit.

I was looking for some advice on setting the basic sensitivity parameters for the PD-120 through the TD-7. For example, how should the minimum velocity be set relative to the maximum velocity? What about the threshold setting? etc.etc.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I would advice you to use the automatic trigger adjustment on the td-7 (strike three times loud, three times less loud and three times soft).

Realize that the trigger settings on the td-7 aren't fine-tuned for the pd-120 pads (these pads just weren't there when the td-7 was hot) and the td-7 had enough problems triggering foreign pads itselve.
