bad news and questions

whats up ppl?i hope ya all doing well. well bad news first. my hart splash died. i didnt hit the thing hard or anything but it just died. i hit it and i get no sound. sometimes it makes a little bit of sound but is just dead. im so sad, somebdoy have some suggestion??i tried changing the cables and etc and it stills workingbad with cables that work with other pads.
well anyways, i need some suggestions about how to play with my friends with the td-8 and all of us using headphones. we all have amps. but we dont know what to buy( to attach all the headphones in one thing). it would be of great help if u tell me how to do it, and getting the best sound quality possible.

This one would be great for that purpose. You'll need a mixer if you want to mix all the other instruments into the headphones as well. I am not sure if you want to use headphones for e-drum monitoring while the rest is using their amps, or if you want to monitor everything on headphones.

The good thing about this headphone amp is that there's bass and treble control on each output, so everybody can adjust the sound to their headphone.

mpc is right on the nose here......if you're wanting to play at night in a house or just have to be a bit quiet,the whole band can run into a mixer and then use a device like the headphone amp to run the signal to each member of the band....you can do it a few ways,but this is the easiest and cheapest if you dont have alot of equipment(can ya ever have too much?)anyhoo,if you can get 3,4,or5 headphones that are alike it will help a bit too.the headphone amp will be boosting your signal as you will obviously be making it weaker when you split it multiple times....for example a pair of phones may have 600 ohms impedance(resistance)the other might have 32 ohms,the signal will always be stronger in the phones with the least impedance"the path of least risistance" have fun man

hey guys thnx a lot for your help. but the trith is that i dont have a mixer and i dont even wanna find out the price of that robotic thing u showed me there(must cost more than what i spend in my whole year ). i just have 2 friends that play guitar and bass and we wanna play with headphones using the chepeast way.
another thing would be if u tell me that thats the only way and i woul be sad hehe.

about the headphones, we could get all the same headphones, i guess........

SO THE QUESTION NOW IS....THERE ARE ANOTHER CHEAPEST AND MORE ACCESIBLE WAY TO DO IT???

Um, well, the cheapest (not very decent) way to do it would be to get the cord-extensions for headphones that have volume controls on them... But it's not a solution to go for if you plan to do this regularly

You might want to have more mono inputs though (for kick, snare, bass and guitar), the 802 would be a good choice for that purpose($125,-)

You'll need a mixer for mixing the bass, guitar and drums into one stereo signal.

If you have a TD-8 it would be nice to have the 802, so you can have the bass, guitar, kick and snare on separate mono inputs.

A 602 will do the job as well, but you wont get as much control over the sound.

if by quality u mean clear, yes.as for your hart splash........lifetime guarantee on hart gear givem a call they will hook u up....also sepdrums is a frequent visitor of this site and a varitable hart guru so i hear talk to him aswell.........l8tr

The sound quality of behringer mixers is very ok, especially given their cost.

If I were you I'd go for an 802 with the Rolls headphone amp.

I have the Behringer MX1604A mixer and I love it and recommend it because it's also appropriate for home recording and live applications. Just a note: you shouldn't buy a mixer just so you can practice with headphones because any mixer will allow you to do that. So when browsing, be conscious of that. According to musiciansfriend.com, this mixer is about $169.00. However I got mine used on ebay for $80.00 and it works great.

Behringer also makes PowerPlay headphone amp which is pictured in one of the above messages posted on this subject. This thing goes for about $100.00 new. So, either way you go, you could be spending the same amount of money on both items.
