Maybe, just maybe, I should SPELL it out just a little clearer for those that 'might' not quite grasp the use of inference...
My exp. with the Yammies (which I've played more than the Rolands) has been that it works well in Closed and open positions...but there never seemed much variation between the two. It was more...
Closed. Sort of open. Pretty much open. Open.
No real blurring from one to the other, just set points of tonal change.
Therefore my question is...does the FD7 improve upon that i.e simulate more accurately a real HH or is it pretty much the same.
"I've played the DTXtreme / DTXpress and Roland TD8.
Here is what you asked :
"How does the FD-7 compare with the DTXtreme AND to a real HiHat."
My answer regarding FD-7 to a real hihat : The FD-7 is the unit that your foot operates and in that regard only, it feels similar to the action of a real hihat's foot-pedal. I would guess the same is true for the others.
I merely ment that you can ask another question in your original thread. A thread is for discussion of a topic. This post was about the same topic, so you should have kept it in the original thread. Not trying to flame or fight. Just trying to help. Threads get pushed to the back as more are added. I see too many times "newbies" will cross-post the same question into multiple forums and start 5 threads on the same subject.
I'm ASKING this question because I had chance to really play the Yamie kits.
My experience on the td8 was...shall we say limited. It was only half complete and the salesguy wanted to show it to a young kid and his mom. Not let me hammer the snot out of it trying to work out how it played!
ALSO I thought that the TD10 +/- the expansion would handle the HH controller BETTER - I DONT KNOW...THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING.
And why a new thread?
BECAUSE I FORGOT TO INCLUDE IT IN MY ORIGINAL ONE!!!!
Why is that such a problem for you? Either join in the spirit of fellowship and helpfulness or ignore the message.
Please dont try and start a flame. I'm only asking people whom I value their experience and opinion. If thats wrong...SO SORRY...HUMBLE APOLS...BEG FORGIVENESS
