    I've noticed an area where you can upload/download kits for the TD10.
    Can this also be done with the TD8?

    The VKitTrans program was developed by a guy named Lee and is a TD-10program. I believe there was a beta version for the TD-10exp that some have used with success also. There is an equivalent program online for the TD-8. I forget what it is called at the moment, but someone will chime in or I will find it and update this post. Lee's software doesn't support the TD-8, but there is software out there.
