  • Does Anyone Know Atma Anur, The Drummer ?

    Just wonderin' if any o' youse guys ever heard of a drummer named Atma Anur? I'm gonna start taking drum lessons from this dude, here in SF, in a month or so. Anyone ? Thanx.

    Yeah. He was in Journey briefly and also replaced Phil Collins in Genesis.

      Although I am not 100% sure, I DO NOT believe Atma has ever played in Journey or Genesis. However, he has played on a number of releases by various Shraplnel Records artists (like Tony Macalpine), he played on the recent Vicious Rumors record and is currently in a band with guitarist Doug Doppler called Einstoned

      I do not know him personally, but I've seen him play locally here in SF a number of times, and he is an excellent (and very FUNKY) drummer.

          You're right about the Genesis thing. Sorry, my bad. The drummer in question was actually Nir Zidkyahu, not Atma Anur. However, I'm pretty sure about the Journey deal. Mike Baird mentioned it in an interview he did for Modern Drummer. I'll try and find it....
