Check this little cartoon. You need sound capabilities to get the whole effect.

Even though I understand that people are making fun of Bin Laden and so on, I don't think it's funny at all.

The war seems far away over there in Afghanistan, but you don't know if it's you who will be hit by a crashing airplane or an exploding bomb somewhere in your 'safe' hometown...... make jokes about it while you can....

No. Sorry. The war is not far away at all.
In fact it's in our back yard. It's in New York. It's in Virginia. It's in Pennsylvania and it's in Florida.

The point here is you can take us on but you can't take us out. You can take our buildings down but you can not take our spirit down. Our sense of humor is part of that spirit. You can be all serious and self righteous but hey buddy, here in America, life goes on and it will always be so. We got football, baseball, hotdogs and apple pie happening all over the place here and that's the way it should be.

I will not be frowned upon or looked down upon or made to be kept silent because some people don't think it's right to be funny right now. Screw that notion. Rant over.

I totally agree, if you don't live in America you just don't know our spirit, you don't know our pride and you don't know our humor. We are fun loving people, we laugh, we rock , we work hard and we use humor to help us move on. I get all the e-mails of cartoons or "photo shop" pictures of the new Trade Center and they make laugh and feel better. FUUCK Bin Laden he'll never take my spirit away and I think the President echoed that sentiment in last nights address. Check out some of these political cartoons one of my developers sent me I think they say it all!!

Due to recent Right To Know acts that have passed through Congress do we get a look at the inner-workings of the diabolical mind of the "loveable" muppet Burt. Evil and consipracy have followed this yellow-pointed foam head through the years. See for yourself:

you're right Arista - we didn't know your spirit - America rightly or wrongly has had a beating from the press over the years, but the bravery and strength I've seen lately has been truly inspirational.

Politics etc.. aside - we mustn't forget the human story here- forget everything else. I am deeply affected by the loss of innocent life both in the US and in Afghanistan and I hope the Taliban are quickly obliterated - if possible not literally (no more killing please)ALTHOUGH COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT THE TERRORIST - in fact would personally derive great pleasure in castrating each and every one of them - but otherwise there has been enough bloodshed. I for one will be donating both to the US cause and that of the truly empoverised Afghanistan people who have no say in what happens...call me a soppy woman but for the sake of the children we must be fair and rational. GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD BLESS THE NEEDY OF AFGHANISTAN.

And now for something more entertaining...monty python sketches much appreciated.

Nellie, good points all. I think we can take some comfort in the fact that there is a concerted effort in Afghanistan to avoid the loss of innocent life. How many other countries in war other than the US and the other countries helping us in this effort (UK included of course) would take the extra time, expense and risk to avoid innocent casualties. While on the other side of these bombs is an enemy that intentionally targets the innocents.

I always say I will not get into more political discussion, but I can't help it I guess. You have some good points nellie, as do everyone. However, we in the U.S. as in the rest of the world, contrary to popular belief, do not have a say in what happens either. The Afghanistan people are just in the middle of it all right now. As were the people of the U.S. on Sept. 11th. I think we need to wake up here, and realize we are all at the mercy of the few. There does, however, seem to be nothing we can do about it. We are not in control. So, I say just try to forget about it, and do whatever it takes to feel better. For example: don't watch the news watch friends.

                            Joke on people!

                            Just my 2 cents.
