  • Missing snare notes SOLVED! TD10exp

Maybe old news to some but, I thought I should pass this on...

For quite some time, my snare had been missing notes, or appeared to have "dead zones" around the head. I thought this was due to bad tuning, but then I noticed that the missing notes were actually very soft RIM triggers. As I hit the snare HEAD , the RIM would sometimes trigger softly and over-riding the snares HEAD sound that I intended to play. The result was missing notes (or very soft RIM notes) on my snare.

In any case the Rim sensitivity can be adjusted in "Setup\trigger\options". The sensitivity increases as number goes up. Mine was set to 12, I lowered it down to 4 and the snare is as good as new.

I must have been screwing with it when I was trying to get rid of accidental side stick notes.

    Hope this helps someone.
    Bill
