  • Linkin Park - Crawling in my skin

In the chorus of Crawling in my skin... Is the drummer using a double bass or do I just suck? I am trying to do it with a single...

I assume you're talking about the bit that is happening while the lyrics are saying, "... not heal... is real...".

That's not double bass. But I wouldn't say you suck, either.

Thanks. I just wanted someone else's opinion before I spent anymore time on it. I just figured it out, and looking back it was pretty straight forward... I also had to adjust my trigger cancel settings on the TD-10 (it was dropping/canceling some of the kick drum triggers)...
            Thanks.

If you can read music try this site:
              http://www.drumtabs.co.uk/

There are a lot of drum tab sites out there just use a good search engine like dogpile or something. I checked this site and it has 3 different versions of Crawling. It doesn't appear that he uses double bass except for maybe a quick hit in the last measure of chorus #3. Nothing that can't be done on a single bass though.

                Thanks.
Yeah, it's a slippery little triplet thingy that starts on the snare sometimes and just used the bass other times... I had to listen to it a few times to really get what he was doing too.

Thanks for the website - I will use it for sure. I can't read music in "real-time" but can read off-line and study it. Thanks for the info.

No DOUBLE BASS on that part, just keep the single beats in through the corus, its very easy to hear what he is doing as well as what he is playing---Im pretty sure he dosent
know how to play or use a double pedal--just listen to his Non-skills!! Come on you can play better than that!! laters!!
