I was in the submarine service for 8 years. I always had my sticks, a strap-on practice pad, and my Sony walk-man with me. I not only got good at my rudiments, but my air drumming was fantastic. When I'd finally get to sit at a drum set, it was just like riding a bike, because I had practiced it so many times in my mind. Where there's a will, there's a way! You have 3 great years to develop your skills!!
