  • Vdrums sound too good?

    Hello.

I just got a VPro set 2 weekends ago.
I really like them, but I'm worried that they make me sound way better than I really am. I think I sound like Ringo, or Buddy Rich, or somebody.
Am I just fooling myself? Would I merely suck if I played a "real" set?

What do all you guise think? Right now I think I am the greatest!!!

Thanks everybody fo letting me bring this to your attention.

    Sincerely,

    vDrumber

Go out and buy a Dave Weckl video or go see Vinnie Colaiuta live and then you (might) want too rethink your comment. You are never the best someone is always better.

Escuse me, scusa me please. You are under arrest for impersonating a drummer, no, a vDrumber. That can't be legal! Up against the wall...

thank you and have a nice day

              Thanks for the replies, guise.

I REALLY like the "sexy" song! That's cool!
(But I'm not sure if it would work rhytmicaly). ( the original song was great too. It was my motto.)

Hey! I was only kidding about being the greatest! What I said was that I only THINK I'm the greatest! You, know, the drums make you sound like you're that good.
Sorry if I was being to suttle for you other drummers.

And meanwhile, nobody's answered my question yet (see topic).

And BTW, isn't it illegal to impersonate a cop?

The V's will allow you to hear things you never knew you were doing. Chances are, you already were that good, but now your mind can hear all the fine points that were muffled out before. Yes the V's do allow you to sound better, but they will also magnify your mistakes (especially when recording). I still remember when I first got my V's, and being amazed at how good my snare rolls were. I spent hours just playing different snares. I can't reproduce that sensation on my acoustics. Playing all alone with the headphones on is one thing (we all sound great to ourselfs). But when the band is together, it's back to the basics real quick. Keep the time first, otherwise everything else will sound terrrible.
Driving a great song is better than driving a great car!!

I had to click on this topic because I thought Yamaha was suing Roland because the V's 'sound too good'. Well, when I was in college I remember this girl who really started coming on to me at some party...man, she was, like, hot and ready, anyways, I thought later: "Am I that good looking or is she just really drunk?"

OK peoples. I want everyone to stop raggin' on Ringo. Why if it had not been for him and that Charlie dude from that "other" band, many of us would not be here today, you know, like ... it don't come easy.

(Sometimes I wonder if I'm ever here)

Yeah, you are right Marc. Plus I think my late grandmother was a bit schizophrenic, so for all I know she might have been Ringo and then it would explain it all.

Ever wonder who's videos Weckl watches and says, "Man, I might as well just quit... I'll never be that good".

Amen to Marc.'s Ringo comment. Say what you want about the man, but he can buy all your broke asses, now can't he?
