  • Rack question

Hi, I have the V-Session Set, but really hate the red rack! Anybody have a different rack, preferably black, that they use and enjoy? I found this site, http://www.1ie-drums.com/hardware-pedals.htm that selss racks (scroll down a bit on the page to see them.) Anybody have this one? Are there any others out there? Sorry if this has been asked before, I am new here. Thanks!

A-drums: Zickos (amber) w/ all Zildjians.

Or you could buy some 38mm steel- or aluminium pipes and replace the original pipes. That would save you a lot of money. I bought 6 Gibraltar T-clamps and bought some steel pipes from a local hardware store. The rack costed me less than $100.

If you have quite a lot of money to spend, try this place here: http://www.drumframe.com
The V2L is the best rack system out there, period. It's also the most expensive. I got mine yesterday, and have finished setting it up and putting my pads on it, and this baby is as stable as a concrete wall, plus the throne and the reclined position are more comfy than my sofa.
There's also a budget model, the VX1, distributed by Kaman, which is just as good as the custom model. Dunno what the price will be though.

                  Dunno.
Drop Drumframe an email, and they'll probably tell you within a day or two, they're normally quite quick to respond.

Mcconaghy, how portable is that rack? How small does it fold (does it fold??) down?
                      It looks incredible!

I'm glad to see someone out there is thinking 'innovation' rather than just re-inventing the wheel over and over.

, plenty of , and , , triggered acoustics, , and a plethora of PA blah blah freakin blah...I mean does anyone care about the specifics of pedals, speakers, processors, hardware or anything that I'm using?? Hmmm, maybe this is an appropriate place to mention that I tried out a new cymbal stand the other day...

The DrumFrame disassembles to the size of a regular 3-sided Gibraltar rack. The base comes apart in 3 pieces, the throne does as well, fitting in a small hardware case. There's an assemply tutorial on their site, assembly looks complicated, but it takes about 5 minutes longer to set up than a regular rack.
Altogether I have 2 SKB hardware cases for my stuff, 2 small ones, one for the base and throne, one for the holders, cymbal-arms and assorted hardware gadgetry, and a large one for the rack assembly.
As I said, it's expensive. I paid $1700 for the whole she-bang, with a custom clamp for mounting the KD-120. Without cases.
