  • Drum Notation Software?

I'm looking for a Windows-based program that will allow me to write drum music for printing. Something that's drum-set friendly, and let's me use little X's (cymbals), etc. Even add stickings, if possible.

    Thanks.

cakewalk 9 will allow this, but it is recording software ($179.00). Seems a little expensive for just printing music. If your in the market for recording midi, cakewalk 9 might be for you.

I'm not sure that there are any specifically for drums, but Cake walk has 2 software offerings, specifically for notation.

I think if you went to Comp USA or something like that, they usually have some cheap notation software.

I recently looked into this myself and found nothing that's really great, but I find myself using Cakewalk's "Score Writer" which is quirky and somewhat difficult to use. I figure if I get good at its' bugs, I'll be happy with it. You can save it as a midi file too. And it's only $39 bucks. http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SW/SW1.html

Thanks for your help everyone. I ended up taking the same path bronskrat took. Not perfect, but gets the job done at a great price.
