Funny that I see that stuff over here too. They call this music 'Gabber' and it originally comes from The Netherlands

I used to make music in this style too.

OMIGOD. I can't stop laughing. I heard there was a cult following of Tribal War, but that's over the top. Great Job! Now post the sequence so we can run it through our TD-10 and pee our pants trying to play to it.

That's what so funny about it, we laugh about the low quality of this music and laugh about the people who think this is really good music

I like the bassdrum sound though. Too bad it's been used in toooooooooo much tracks

BtnkBndt does not specify he is referring to the music, but apparently you are. Are you putting down this music style, or the quality of the recording? My take is that it is some sort of techno. Or could it be industrial? The lines of demarcation begin to blur for me with certain electronic music.

I would hate to think there are people around that "laugh" at certain music and proceed to dis it as low quality. Now, there is some music I do not care for and very little that I absolutely cannot stand. That does not mean I consider it low quality or laughable. For example, I absolutely cannot stop feeling the pain in my ears like fingernails along a chalk-board everytime my wife plays Hank Williams. Many people listen to it are absolutely nuts over it. So, who am I to publicly declare it is low quality and laughable?

BTW svook, always one to look ahead, I finally got around to sampling various "techno" recordings, and alot of it sounds pretty sophisticated & challenging. ALthough you are taking the full live band approach, if a lone d-j type can put stuff together, why not a drummer-only approach? Unlike a DJ just standing around spinning a disc back & forth, wouldn't an actual performing drummer present a more appealing visual for the crowd? Hmmmmmm..... add a few strobes, maybe a color bar ...

Damn, check out an earlier post of mine in which I tell I used to make music in the same style too! I do like the style, but I don't consider the "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" a good song, more like a good joke.

O.K. Not familiar w/the "Gabber" term, is it european? I am somewhat familiar with "House". My take on the House-style that I've heard is some sort of marriage of disco & techno. Am I off here? Also, what aspect of House would make it "hardcore". So, is there softcore House? Is there standard House? Sure would be an education for me to get a breakdown of all these styles with some recommendation tunes to get schooled. Since this thread is non-e-drum anyways, perhaps someone can provide here a comprehensive compilation of styles for various types. For example ...

Soft Rock - Chris Cross' "Ride Like The Wind"
Hard Rock - Bad Company's "Can't Get Enough"
Acid Rock - JHE's "Purple Haze"
Southern Rock - Outlaws' "High Tides & Green Grass"
                              Surf Rock - **** Dale's "Miserlou"
                              Classical Rock - ELP's "Pictures ..."

                              ... etc.
