What's the best setting for the level knob on the Mackie. Line, Normal, Mic, just wandering?
Thanks

Pearl drums converted with hart adc, roland kd7's, pd 120 for snare, various roland rubber pads, hart e cymbals and pads, td8, td6, 2 mackie srm450s and mackie sub. mackie sr 24-4 mixer........and always growing.
Concerning the Mackies, being as there powered would you still need to go through a PA desk to monitor the speaker. I take it you can't just plug into a Mackie and you have the monitor.
Anyone know the best place to buy them in the UK?
spides: you can go directly to the mackie from your module. You can also plug a mic directly into them.
Can't help with where to buy them in the UK though. I bought mine at rics music. great price and excellent service.

I set the Mackie to Normal, and control the volume from the sound module or mixer depending on the setup. I've never had a problem with volume using this setup. I'm curious about using the low cut filter and the contour buttons. What are the rest of you doing?
If you're using the 450/s with the 1500 sub, put the low cut filter on. Without the sub, the filter will really thin the bottom. If I was using one 450, I would leave the low cut filter off and probably turn the contour on. If I were using two 450s, I'd probably leave both filters off. Try them and use what sounds good to you.
Thanks Jay! I love the Mackies. I do use one 1500 sub. I think I like the Contour On. Do you run your drums through a mixer or direct from the module?
Tom
I run three outputs from the TD10 to our board - CFX 16. The kick goes out Direct 1 and the rest of the kit goes out Main l/r. We use two 450s and one 1500 for our pa.
Now you've got me curious to try the contour with the system. I've got it all set up at home . Probably be extreme overkill, but I'm gonna try it anyway.
Mackie is going to put up some info and pictures of our group on their website, evidently because we use a full Mackie pa. Might even be up tomorrow. Go to Mackie, Mackietone news, Blessed Mixings. We're still in shock.
Jay
