But (just for wanting to know) please repeat if I am correct now

You can assign two sounds with a pd 7/9 and not with a PD-120?
How soon we 4-get. OK Rob, I see your point. If I tell (program) the module that an input has a PD9 and a PD-120 is physically connected there, I do not believe you can get 2 sounds unless it is the snare input only.
However, ALL 12 (TD-10) of the inputs CAN have rim & head (dual) assignments. I think I'm confusing myself.

I'm surprised that anyone would say they wouldn't want to be able to do rimshots on their toms! I want my kit to be as realistic as possible, and the more different sounds I can get out of it the better -- every sound has a use!

This is where a real kit still outshines edrums IMHO -- the variety of sounds. On a real kit you can play rimshots on any drum, hit the stands, etc...not to mention the variety of sounds you can get by hitting cymbals in different places.

The best drummers I've ever seen (generally jazz drummers) usually have a small 5-piece kit but can get a range of sounds that rock monsters with their huge cage things can't even come close to.

Guess I need to try the 'shack trick, when I can figure out what it actually is used for

Chris, thank you for your, as usual, very informative reply. I feel I have it "down" now. Your challenge is indeed appropriate. I hope you recieve many responses because you have tapped into an area that bears much fruit at minimal cost. I only wish I could respond likewise. I have started a new assignment in Sonoma County, meaning my set is all boxed up now, as we begin relocation efforts. Rest assurred however, that once settled in, I will be doing the Shack-Thing, now that the scales have been removed. Thanks again Chris.
