  • "Thrones"

This is such a great word. Just thought i'd share that with you all. As drummers we call the humble stool a "Throne". Is that because we're kings of rock and roll?

What are your favorite drum words?

I couldn't possibly explain that but I seem to like the word "kick" a lot...oh yeah, and
    "polyrhythmic"too...

Anyway ,I had fun finding these two.
Do you have more of these questions?

Actually, I thought you were talking about the john. Is this not where the "stool" is placed?

I always called the Throne "The Driver's Seat" for obvious reasons.

Sounds like something a mischevious kid would do! . . . then again, I guess we did!

I love that rus - I think I'm going to adopt this from now on.

Flam is also a great rudiment name. It sounds like it sounds - Phat! (actually, rudiment is also cool)

Never liked the word "throne" - sounds a little pretentious to me. But I have grown to dig the word "kick", and of course, "ride", "crash" and "splash".

Other words that I'm lukewarm on are ones like "toms", and "paradiddles" which sound like toys!

                        How about "syncopation"?

What I DON'T like is when people call drums "kit". "That's a great kit man". It kinda sounds like a toy you know?

This is a feeling that has stuck from when I played Acoustic exclusively... I guess it doesn't bug me as much with regards wo my Vs.
