Studio Set Upgrading DONE!!

I have just finished the upgrading of my studio set..
everything is working great!!!

I'm so happy!!

My Upgraded Kit:

It was a normal studio kit
no 2 pd-80,pd-100,pd120
so i have 4 new pads now!!!!
(i'm using the pd-7-9 (old snare + 3 toms) as cymbals now)

I think it's a real improvement...

About a month ago, you told me you couldn't get your son to play drums. Now we find he's got his own kit, lives in Israel and you communicate thru net forums. Glad to see he's playing. You guys need to talk more, try the phone .

Congratulations. I remember the feeling when I added the extra pads. Surprisingly, I feel like my set is complete and don't have a strong desire to buy something else. It's been a year since I upgraded. There must be something wrong with me!

Looks groovy, Roya! I'm about to set up my new V-Custom +1 extra PD9 and 1-PD80(as soon as my damn 40'in crossbar & L-Rods come in for my Gibraltar rack, that is).

I notice you have 11 pads, in total. Does that mean you have 2 Y-cables ? ? with 4 of the pads being single trigger only? I thought max inputs on our TD8 was 9?

Thats right
i have 2 y cables.
4 single trigger pads...
i think (i still want to play with it a little bit more) that it's the max number of items the td-8 can handle...

Hey Alex, you need to do some reading up on your module. Even I know you can run twelve pads on a TD-8 same as the 10. Looks like you've got more $$$ to spend

Hey BtnkBndt aka Michael, Thx for the enlightenment via email! I haven't opened or read up on my TD8 at all, I'm still waiting (4 wks now on a special order from GC) for my Gibraltar & Roland parts so I can finally set up!

So, let me clarify this in your midst, if I may?! I have the standard V-Custom pad setup. Here it is:1-FD7, 1-PD80R, 3-PD80's, 3-PD7's, and 1-KD80.

That leaves input#9-(Crash2) and Aux#11/12 totally free. I already bought an additional PD80, which I'll pop into the Aux#11/12 slot, and 1-PD9, which will occupy input#9-(Crash2).

Does this mean, (and I ask you to sum up your collective infinitessimal wisdom here) that by my using 2 Y-Cables, I can pop an additional single trigger pad into input #1/2-Kick AND another single trigger pad into input #11/12-Aux, along with my extra PD80?

This Config. would allow me to have 12 pads hooked up ?! If my above hypothesis is true, then wowiezonkersholymoly****e, I= !

New Updates:
Now i'm using the Y cables with the 2 pd-80 and the pd-100(all toms).
So now, except one, all my pd-x (cymbals) are dual triggered!!!!
Again i'm so happy!!

Okay TD-8 guys enlighten Alex.

Yes, you got it I believe. The two inputs you use the Y splitters on will accept two single zone piezo pads, triggers whatever.

The snare accepts a two piezo pad or a piezo/fsr pad whichever. But you cannot split this input it will not work.

The rest of the inputs accept single piezo or piezo/fsr pads.

12 triggers total.

Arent the TD-8 people actually using kick split for one pd80 and the kick. Aux11/12 inputs for two pd-80's, snare for snare (of course). Which leaves you all the rest as stereo piezo/fsr inputs?

Nice set up Roya! Glad to see a pic of someones kit-finally! As soon as mine is complete(Still waiting on my TD-10 which now wont be here until Monday 22nd -idiots @8th St.music) I will post a pic. Hmmm...the room looks familiar is that your dining room? 'Cause that's where mine is .
