      Hi JML

There are some 2 year old video's and some within the last year .
I saw the kit for sale on the Thoman cyberstore site which is international so I would hope you could onr from there .
I have Emailed them about upgrades to cymbals , so lets see what the customer service is like cant be ant worse than Roland and Yamaha .

It was withdrawn from the US because of Roland's mesh patent.

don't be surprised. Mark is quite a small company and the drum division would not have too many resources.

I have had contact with some owners and the customer service would seem very poor and worse if you need parts .

It would also seem that there are some problems ie 4 expansions Tom\ cymbal but no sound for a low tom and not enough sounds to set up a large kit .

Also the promissed down loadable kits have never materilised and Mark Drum are talking about the possibilty of a newer kit in the new year but then seem to be ignoring its cutomers questions ?

Looks like I will wait untill after Christmass before chosing a new kit TD DTX YES , for me it looks like what ever company I buy from I cant rely on customer serivice .

PS still no reply I started Tuesday with a request for information with a view to buy one so you would have thought they could have made an effort.

Sounds about "par for the course" for companies these days.
That is why it is so important to research, try out, ask others and google everything before laying out hard earned cash for anything.
Also buying from a respected seller with a decent return policy in case you miss something in your research helps greatly.
I have returned very few items of great importance or cost over the years.
Case in point, I took 6 months to buy my first edrum kit (TD-9). I still have it and use it (for expansion) along with my TD30!

OK here we are Nor reply's from any medium but I did get a reply from Thomann Cyberstore who said " we do not know what`s going on with Mark Drum. We do not have contact directly but only with the distributor. Also we do not sell mark Drum anymore, only our remaining stock. " and said that a Roland or Yamaha kit would be better idea than waiting on Mark Drum . So there you have it , back to looking for a TD20 then .

As a MarkDrum owner, I can relate to the feeling they're sometimes slow, but I don't mind that much. There's a simple reason for it: they are a small company. The support is just a bunch of people (if at all), and I can say I had no problem contacting Marcello from their service. If not on the same day, then the day after. They have always been helpful.
It's been the contrary of 'poor' support: I had two plastic discs that got broken over time (the ones holding the cymbal pads), and one of the rods the disc was screwed to had a worn-out screw hole. I made photos to show them that I only needed these two parts and the small rod. They replied they'll send me the spare parts. On the next (!) morning - I live in Berlin-, the delivery guy rang at 07:30 with an Express parcel (I was puzzled, as I was in a rush with the kids & school). Couldn't believe it. And even better, these weren't just the few parts, they sent me 2 complete cymbal arms! How cool is that?

Drums are only a part of their business, and I can imagine everybody in this relatively small team (check their web page, they might be around 30 or so) is surely occupied with multiple products and projects. So when they are taking a break, I wouldn't mind, as long as they keep up. Maybe they expected more feedback or revenue from the YES project, but I would encourage everyone to check out the kit and make up its own mind. I was about buying a TD15KV last year after trying different kits in a shop for hours, and then the MD took me 30secs to change my mind, it was an 'instinct' thing. People seem to lose their instincts once google does it all for them...

If a dealer says something for or against a product, they might be biased. Surely they are. Even if a manufacturer doesn't dictate how much space they want in the showroom, it could be their gross margin is higher with a certain brand than with another, and also that their throughput is higher because with certain brands stocks sell fast. So I would be cautious. I've learned to not trust salesmen that much.

Problem with Mark drum here is that there is just no where to try one at all and when some like Thomann cyberstore get fed up with getting no response and drop them then you have to worry about spendig your cash .
I tryed every form of media to contact them as I wanted to buy one, six weeks later still no reply so I have bought and old TD12 for practice .
