  • Latency on DTX500

    Hi there!

After a bit of health problems I've started on my A2E conversion again, so today I started up my DTX500 module just to make sure everything worked as it should.
I just played around on the snare for a little while and I noticed some latency between striking the snare and the sound in my headphones. It's a 14" snare that came with my Ludwig Breakbeats kit, Triggera Intrigg and then the headphones plugged straight into the DTX500 module.

Any ideas on what could be causing this? Could it be that I have the Intrigg positioned wrong? I did notice that the sound level was rather low and I had to hit the snare fairly hard for anything to trigger. It feels like the Intrigg is positioned at the right height when comparing it to other Intrigg users and pictures. Could it be some setting on the module that I'm overlooking?

Plug the pad into a different socket and see what happens. There should be 0 latency when using hardware. (or so little you won't notice!). Unless you've dialled in a long attack time. If all else fails, try a factory reset of the module.

Didn't ever think of plugging it into another output, lol. Will try tomorrow with a different output and maybe a factory reset, even though I think I did a factory reset not long before the project came to a halt.
The latency shouldn't be because of the Intriggs, their position should only affect how well it triggers and not latency. Although I remember having trouble with the Intriggs trigging too softly on my old Gretsch Catalina kit aswell. I'm not really expert on this matter so I have no idea what the problem could be. If I recall correctly the gain on the module if fairly high and the volume knob is at max aswell so I don't know why the sound level is so low.

Also, Roland and Yamaha wiring is different. Double check that the head piezo is wired as the module expect it to be wired.
