Hi
100 years ago I did a recording in Cubase using TD12 and BFD2. I do not now have either Cubase or BFD2! Anyway, the experience was good. What I would like to do this time, for intra-band demos, is record the TD12 using its on-board sounds but have editing capability. Here is what I think will happen:
1) I connect midi out lead into my Edirol UA-25-EX, and Edirol into computer.
2) I press record and play along with the song tempo map.
3) I edit the drumming to ensure accuracy (!!!) in the Reaper midi editor.
4) I send the quantized midi back to the module and record back into Reaper.
What I don't know:
1) How do I record the on-board sounds on separate tracks back to Reaper?
2) Can I monitor the kit sounds when I record the midi (say using mono (L) out to an amp)?
3) Is there a special midi track in Reaper, as there was in Cubase, I need to open to record to?
4) How do I open the midi editor in Reaper - double click the track?
I know about the maximum four outs btw, and that you have to record back in stages, you can't do the lot at once.
Cheers for any help, I am no Trevor Horn. Not yet.
