I lost my band... I didn't really LOSE my band, it's just when I go to practice, nobody's there.

No seriously, the band I've been faithfully practicing with for 21 months, suddenly dissolved. I don't understand what happened. I'm confused, frustrated, pissed and every other emotion. In fact this next weekend was going to be the premiere introduction. We were going to have a fairly heavily attended family and friends gig next to a lake (Rock the Dock).
We did have an issue with the singer for the first time not telling us he could not make practice, but apparently it festered in the guitarist mind and he sent out an email a few days later to tell us it's over.
So yes, I'm frustrated and pissed, but I need to focus on next steps. I'm not going to let those emotions dominate me. I'm going to let my passion for music inspire me. I'm currently thinking of different ways to find a band or create a band. I will thank my past band for the opportunity.
So this is really to catch you guys up. I've talked quit a bit about my excitement on gigs and performing and all things related. That will have to be pushed back some, until I get back in the game. Wish me luck.
I'm open to suggestions on next steps.

I have put a lot of thought these last couple weeks into what I need and want musically.
I spend apx 2 hrs daily going over the stuff we do and another 4 hours on wed at practice and feel I'm not growing as a guitarist, just maintaining.
As sorry as I am to say it Im done with the cover tune band thing and any band at all for that matter.
I am taking a break for the first time in 25 years and looking forward to it.
Wed is still open to get together to pick up stuff etc. Sorry to let you guys down.
This totally blindsided me. These guys asked me 21 months ago to join them despite me not touching drums in 25+ years. I felt so lucky & blessed. Immediately I bought a Roland TD-15K and the guys loved it. Started off rough. Plenty of challenges with their choice in music, but I improved.I spend apx 2 hrs daily going over the stuff we do and another 4 hours on wed at practice and feel I'm not growing as a guitarist, just maintaining.
