  • Greatest drum intros?

    Do you agree?
I know it's a matter of personal taste and genre...

Maybe not a pure drum intro but Mitch Mitchell and Jimi Hendrix playing Fire. They really played off each other.

I always liked Green Days 'Armatage Shanks' intro. Very basic but just sounds great to start the insomniac album.

but I of course love hot for teacher intro!

Not that much into the song itself but the intro has impressed me since my teenage...

Well not only the outstanding drummer, but the drum set itself. Not sure anything could touch this.

OK, here's a few from back when I was a young lad (which was a very long time ago):

Ramblin Gamblin Man - Bob Seger (Bob Seger System) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKwXHDs1R6Y

Cara-Lin - The Strangeloves (this was the first record -45rpm - I ever bought at age 13; I was just starting to play drums and thought the drums sounded so cool)
                              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZHeb-7dASk

                              And just for GuruMyStick -

What You're Doing - Beatles (Might be the only Beatle song with a drum intro) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BAWax0PuJ4
Hart Dynamics Studio AX; Alesis DMPro modules; Hart Hammer pads; Crappy Trigger; Pearl Powershifter double bass pedal; Roc-N-Soc throne; dB Technologies S-400 for amplification; headphones (audio-technica ATH-M50, Sony MDR-CD380).
