Roland PM 10 monitor - what's the best connection?

Hi All, I am new to this forum and new to drumming. I have a question, hopefully someone can help me. I own a TD 11, connected to a PM 10 monitor? my questions are: 1) can I connect the jack to the headphones line out of the TD 11 instead to the output (Mono)? Is there any chance I can damage the drum if I do this? 2) I noticed that the power (volume) of the monitor is much higher if I connect the cable to headphones line out instead of to the output (mono). Is this expected? Thank you all in advance.

Use headphones output to connect headphones, and the mono output to your monitor/amp. Here's why.
