  • New Mesh Heads From Pintech - White

    Hey All!

Pintech has been working hard on some new products, and we are happy to announce that we are releasing our "Reaction Series" mesh heads in white! (We will still offer them in black as well.)

As many of you know, we take pride in our mesh heads. We've spent a lot of time testing a TON of different mesh, and think we came up with the most durable mesh that offers the best feel. Our mesh heads come with a unique rubber coating on the outside that helps prevent tearing and stretching, and are very quiet.

A lot of people have been asking us lately if we could come out with our mesh heads in white. We got a lot of feedback at NAMM, where people would say something like "Wow, these feel great! I wish they were available in white though..." - Well, we listened. Believe it or not, Pintech used to only have white mesh heads. A decision was made years and years ago, and we changed our head color to black. So you could really call this a "re-release" of some sorts. The price is the same for black or white, and they are available in all sizes ranging from 8" all the way up to 26"!

They will be available for shipping on May 1st, and we are taking pre-orders now. We announced this yesterday, and we already had to increase our production because of the huge demand that we got yesterday from it.

We have another product that we are VERY excited about that should be announced within the next 30 days as well. Thanks again for all of the support, and look for Pintech to be making a big splash in 2014!

Are these single ply? I tried the link but my connection is terrible at the moment.

Yes. Single ply. Our single ply mesh material is a little different than most though. The feel is more like what you would expect from an acoustic head.

Seems like it may be a nice replacement for the Hart heads that are long gone because of the variety of sizes and Pintech's reputation...but unfortunately just as expensive as the Hart legacy was too.

We may have some good news coming about the price. We are working on some special sales and things that would be more attractive and possibly in your price range. Our mesh material is the most expensive material that we've seen. We didn't choose it because of that, but we did choose to use it because it offered the best feel and durability.

We all know there are cheaper solutions out there, but I guarantee you that they will not last even close to as long as our heads.

No joke, we just replaced a customers heads that were 14 years old! And they still worked fine. We just replaced them because he was changing his pads from a single zone into a dual zone. Obviously, that is different for everyone - Playing style, the amount you play and technique is going to determine how long as mesh head lasts - but we will put ours up against anyones.

Anybody know if they are identical to their black reactions except for color or is there a difference in the weave , or some other differences in the way they are made?

The mesh material is EXACTLY the same... Other than the color. The specs on rebound, thickness, weave, open area, etc are all exactly the same. The only difference is that they are white. This material that we get naturally is a beige color... We then either have it colored in black, or in white. Hope that helps!

Beige huh? Interesting...sounds just like Suntex90...in "Stucco". If it's similar...it's good stuff. (I use the Black version) I'm pretty sure I haven't used the Reaction series..unless it's been around a long time but your earlier heads were quite thin and bouncy...tough....but still thin and bouncy. Are these different?

Of course you announce these the day after I order Remo Silent Stroke heads. Oh well. If the Remo's crap out on me I will have to check these out.
I think my work is done here.

I will keep you in mind. Roland's offerings, while great, are a bit expensive and don't offer enough sizes to get a matching set on an A2E kit. Billy Blast heads are just ugly, so I've ruled them out on aesthetics alone. Remo Silent Strokes are a bit unproven, but I'm hoping a company like Remo isn't making crappy practice heads and is putting forth a good effort to make durable mesh heads. They make the Roland heads, so they have experience in this game. All the previous Pintech offerings were black and I wanted white, so you guys were off the table. 682 heads are a bit too buzzy and rough to me. I have one for my 22" kick and it works fine, but I don't want them on all my drums. So that leaves us USA guys with all the other manufacturers across the pond. Many don't ship to the USA, and if you find them on eBay they cost more than a Roland head after shipping. I would love to try Z-ED Triple-X heads (or rebadged Hummdrum triple ply heads), but I couldn't find a USA distributor.

Anyway, its good to see you guys providing a white head for us USA guys. If they are as durable as you say, I will probably end up going with your heads for any future builds. Maybe I will sell my Roland heads and pick up yours for my TD-30 A2E. Then I would have a matching set. We will see.
