Hi everyone, i need to get a sample (waves/seaside sounds) into my td 30 to start when i say hit a cymbal and stop when i do the same. Its for an intro to a song. Can i do this? if so could you help me out please? Thanks.

I'm afraid importing samples is not going to happen with a TD module. Well unless you have some kind of seawave sound in the TD-30's GM/percussion set.... You might want to look at an SPD-SX or a TM-2, a SamplePad or a similar device to pull this off!

Create a file to be played from the USB. You can assign that sound to be played by a pad. You can do this with only one sound. I do not know if there is any lag. I've never tried it myself, but Drew at Roland confirmed it can be done. I imagine the instructions for tying the sound to a pad are in your Roland manual.

Thankyou, i'll see if i can sort that out. A bit scared of using the usb tho (not sure how to ) I want to download the vex sounds but i feel my limited knowledge will screw up the module.

Page 118 and 119 of the manual.

Assigning a Function to a Pad. Probably the safest one is "USB Song Play2, but you'll need a pad connected to AUX4.
