Playing with brushes?

How many of you play on your v-drums with brushes?
Is there any difference playing with brushes on mesh-head?
What kind of brushes do you recomend for playing with meshheads?

I'd like to know too. Going this weekend to the music store... possibly. Read elsewhere here, about nylon brushes.
Settings change perhaps?

I bought a pair of nylon brushes once to try on my TD-9, the kit didn't play at all, piezos don't detect brushes in a way that will make a brush kit work.

It is possible to set up a brush e-kit though, I've seen 'em on utube, people dedicate like an 8-pad to all the different brush sounds and trigger them that way using regular sticks, so it bears little resemblance to playing on an a-kit with brushes, but you can get some of the sounds.
Brush drags need to be in tempo however and all the different nuances just don't work well with triggering.

For me I wanted to learn brush technique, so getting the sounds wasn't the goal anyway.

My thinking is get an acoustic snare if you want to learn brush technique.

There is a nice video somewhere of Johnny Rabb and some other famous drummer dueling each other with just snares and brushes.
Once you see that you won't even think about brushes on an e-kit.

Dayum, left my 30 Kit back at the factory. Think I could pull off this sound on my TD-15K and nylon brushes on a regular kit? No swirling, just tapping.

My TDX-20 has a brush kit. Haven't used it with brushes though.

You sure could - no problem with the stock brushes kit.

The TD30 supports brush sweeps, it's not as good as the traditional analog sound but it's the only module that does brush sweeps i believe.

Get a pair of the nylon brushes, wire brushes are too thin and can get caught in the mesh heads.
