  • Kat DITI

Finally in the web site with information!
    http://www.alternatemode.com/DITI/

Official shipping will begin April 1st.

I am interested about this, especially for the Play up to 32 notes per trigger: using alternate note patterns, or velocity shift modes or chords. This includes the ability to control resets and note freezes on triggers individually or globally.

it doesn't say 'Intellegent' anymore, because they are about to release it , Official shipping will begin April 1st.

but they are looking for 50 beta testers to help them create User Kits for all of the sound modules out there, and for creating “profiles” which define all of the settings of a particular pad on the market. The street price for the DITI will be $499, but they are offering the DITI to beta testers for just $299. In April when the final version is released, they will swap out your DITI with the latest software.

This will be probably the most advanced midi trigger available.

Hey, it seems we're getting somewhere....

Where am I supposed to sign up?

....ship one of them buggers over here !!! ...and how about throwing in an OnHead? I wouldn't mind!
....I give 'em all a good twack, write down my findings, then ship it back to where it came from!

The street price for the DITI will be $499
This gets even better! Okay, maybe not quite fitting the 'basement bargain' category, but if DITI delivers what it promises, it's on my list!

I had a drumKAT once, it had the best triggering configuration I ever used. It is the only one that ever gave me everything I wanted. Should be amazing in a unit like that.

Hmmmmm. To upgrade the software, it needs a phone cable, a PC and an emulator. So 1980. What's wrong with USB?

The DITI makes me feel dumb. I thought I was a clever guy but the more I read about the DITI the less understand what the heck it is or why anyone would need such a thing. I happily used a DrumKAT DK10 or a while, then I tried the higher end DrumKAT with the LCD display and could not even figure out the interface. I love Alternate Mode stuff, but they drive me nuts with their difficult and abstract interfaces. Maybe the KAT-Medelli collaboration will impart some user-friendliness into their core gear. Or maybe I really am dumb.

The positive thing is the DITI's user-interface has dedicated arrow keys!
I never could get past the Drumkat tutorials, after realizing you will have to use the drumpads themselves for value-changes, exit- and enter-functions....
