Foot Switches for changing kits

You need to find out whether the Roland switches have 'normally closed contacts' or 'normally open contacts' and find out the same about any footswitch you want to use. If it's the same it will work, if it's not the pedal works inverted.

As far as I remember Roland footswitches have normally open contacts.

Hi Cas,

You can use it for switching between the kits. There is an connector on the backsite of your TD-10 where you can put it in.

The keyboard player at my church has one of those Kurzweil pedals. I plan to borrow it this weekend and try it out. It has a 1/4" stereo plug.

Looks like you could assemble a switch box from Radio Shack parts. I may have seen the plans for doing that here.

That's correct. You could even build huuuuuge switches with springs inside, which you could hit with your sticks

LOL but.....
It's possible to switch between kits by using your pads, no springs, sorry .
I think (I'm on my office now so I'm not sure) that AUX1 and/or AUX2 has that possibility.

I tried the Kurzweil and it works great! I am ordering one today from Musician's Friend.

Yes, that is how it worked. It has a stereo plug that goes in the foot controller jack.

I was quite impressed. It even stayed put on the carpet.

You press the left pedal and it goes down one patch. Right goes up one patch. I even tried holding the pedal down to see what it would do. One patch only!

I bought one of these from Pintech almost a year ago. It is listed as a VFP-1. http://www.pintechusa.com/New_Pintech_Si/vfp.html
They should make a VFP-2!!! It looks like the same company made both after comparing the two. Pintech and Kurzweil didn't make them (I don't think).

Musician's friend is the only one I have found so far.

I wonder what you could use the 3 pedal version for? HH and kit changer? I use the VFP-1 on my DrumKat as a HH pedal. It works great!

KIT REAL!!!!!

I use a momentary sustain pedal from my casio wk1300 keyboard. It works well for changing kits on the v's
