  • Pearl RedBox RDM-20?

AnyAnyone know if ddrums triggers [snare(dual - head and rim), toms, bass] and hart mesh heads that I will be using on my acoustic kit work with the red box? Looked in the owners manual, and has capability of switching input types to either piezo or switch. Does this mean I should be good to go?

I can get one used at GC at a good price. Or should I just try it and if it doesn't work return it?

It will work - at the very least for single zone pads, but more likely dual zone. Cymbals might be more tricky though

The Redbox is just a rebranded Alesis DM-10, as you may know.

Which is bringing up the question, what GC charges for it, and if you not rather look into something other...
      --- used TD-9 / used TD-12 / used DTX-500 / new DTX-502 / (...if you have the budget): new 2box ---

GC used for $150. Can;t touch any module for that price. Was thinking of a TD-9 or TD-10, until I saw the redbox at GC. I like the DTX for price, but not sure how well it will handle the mesh pads. and the dual zone snare ddrum triggers, otherwise I would definitely go with the DTX502.

The cymbals not too worries about as yet. Can use my acoustic cymbals for now. Probably maybe the Gen16's later.

        any other thoughts please?

The 502 won't like your triggers unless they are piezo / switch or you build an adaptor. Its the one downfall of an otherwise great budget module.
