I'm looking to upgrade to a better snare pad for use with my TD-12. I was originally going to purchase a black PD-125 but might consider the PD-125sx if the wrap can easily be changed. Is it possible to simply buy a piece of wrap from a drum supply store, cut it to size, and swap it out with the silver finish that comes on the PD-125sx? I know you can get replacement wraps for these pads but they seem pricey so I'd rather do it myself.

This is a very easy do-it-yourself project. The only thing you need to be mindful of is the wrap has to be no thicker than 1mm. Just be sure to specify that with your vendor when you look into finishes.
As an awesome choice, check out Nathan McLaren's wraps. Cut and guaranteed to fit and lots of great options!
