  • Multiple video cameras

    Hey All,

I'm interested in doing a cheap multi-camera setup -- maybe using a couple of webcams -- so that I can better analyze my playing. In the postings I've seen here, folks are using multiple independent cameras and then marrying up the videos using an editor, but that's too much overhead for what I need. Like I said, I'm interested in simply analyzing my playing rather than posting the videos anywhere, so I need to be able to just record and view right away.

The closest solution I can imagine is using video security/surveillance software, which is inherently designed to take multiple video feeds, but I suspect that having all the video streams synchronized would prove challenging.

Has anyone attempted this? Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

Are you on Mac or PC? Not sure on the security system, I think you can record multiple views and have them all on screen at the same time but most don't record audio. The webcam might be the cheapest, you just need to make sure the FPM are high enough so it's fluid, not that staggered video the old cams were famous for.

Target and Walmart have an HD camcorder on sale for 30 bucks if you're in the U.S. It records to an SD card which are cheap and make it easy to import to the comp. If you pick up 2 or 3 of those, they'd do the trick. http://www.target.com/p/vivitar-hd-d...FWJo7AodxHgAXQ

Then use either Windows Movie Maker (PC) or iMovie (Mac). Both are free and are easy to use so you can sync up your different angles, you can fade to different angles if you want, not sure if they allow you to do PIPs so you can have multiple angles at the same time though.

I have a GoPro mounted on my rack which gives a really cool angle, it's close up and wide angle. Those are not cheap though. I've seen some inexpensive knock offs but I'm not sure if they are decent.
