  • Headphones ,,once and for all, gone missing

I have found no one in this forum to guide me in my quest. The original thread has gone like the dodo, some where into the dark.
I can not find the answer I am looking for,, maybe scared or maybe peeps just do not really no, me thinks.
So I got together with a few mates, and they no other guys, and one of those guys works in a music store,,, ta daa.
Got to try out some headphones,,some, I have myself the senn 280 pro,,one mate of mine has the shure 440 and 840 ,rich prick.
His mate let us use,, from the store he worked at, the Audio technica ath-m50, a sony mdr7576 I think, a senn hd25-11 and a shure iem-535.
The ath-50 are really nice,,buy them if you can get a good price, the senn hd25-11 are great too, but over ear closed phones are my thing. the sony sound nice too, but not that good. The shure 440 sound and look much the same as my 280 pro, the 840 are clearly better but not bang for buck better. the iem 535 are amazing for rattling your head, clear and crisp, but not as open type area feel as the over ear phones, that is it is in your head not over it, if that makes sense.
My mate from the store said he has a pair of shure se 215s and they are just as good sounding as the se425 models.
I am so glad I have the senn 280 pro, because they do the job nicely. there are better phones to get, but for $100 aus I'm done for awhile.
Might buy some shure se 215 if I find them cheap on ebay,, later Hemi

That topic got trashed in the upgrade. I can't fix it, unfortunately.

Might be cool to restart the thread as a sticky, with a new poll with some of the newer popular cans, like the ATH-50M....
TD9+6v with Diamond Electronic pads, and cowbell.
        ATH-50m headphones, VEX packs
not to mention keyboards, guitars, basses, and cats

Ha , I love the term got trashed in the upgrade, I thought that only happend to my computer.
I'm gonna try to copy and paste my original ramblings.
Its just theres plenty of headphone reviews, but not many from the digital drummers ears. What sounds good through your ipod, I could not give a rats ass.
I only care about my drums sounds, like I have said before,my upgrade from logitec phones to $30 phillips to senn 280 pro has made almost the same difference sound wise that is, then the upgrade of modules. Its reached a high point now with the 280 pro's, but if a forum legend told my a $400 pair of whatever would blow my mind,, I would buy them.
Roland td-9kx2 gear, on the 8th oct 2013 will have td-30 module, 3 X pd 85, 2x pd 105, v 11 hihat, kd 9, 2x 12yc, 1x 13cr, pm 30 monitor, double pedal(suck at these), vex kit masters 50 and naturals so far. Now have Vex Strike and td 30, wooh hoo !

Hay everyone, I noticed on the headphone poll at the top of the page, that it only really represents mainly what forum peeps have, and not really which phones are best in their catagory and or price range.
I would like to see someone put together a list of phones from 1 to 10 in each catagory and price range.

            EXAMPLE. $100-$200

            1. Audio Technica Ath-m50. price $150.
            2. Senheiser HD 280 pro. price $100. close to nunber 1.
            3. Sony. price $180.
            4. Shure ?

(And so on like that, just a example there, not researched.) But set out correctly so drummers can see in which price range they are in, and what the top 5 are, and buy bang for buck.
I personally have the Senn HD280 pro's, and they are great, in the $100 to $150 price range.
Can I get better for the same price,? or $50 more. Or do I buy a $400 pair of Shure and get pissed of when they don't sound 4 times better then my $100 280 pro's?
If there was a list, and I saw my 280 pro listed at 6. compared to say Shure at 1. With only $70 difference I might just upgrade.
I know all drummers want the best sound, but are not going to spend $1000 on cans for a td 4. In fact most probably range from 100 to $300 mark. I would go to $300 if I new they where much better.

Nobody knows headphones.com,,, is the answer here.

I think headphones are under rated in these forums, and am pushing for my own knowledge,,I really want kick ass sound for a good price.
