This might sound pretty stupid but I can't seem to figure it out. I am wondering how I can change kits in the middle of a song without there being a pause between kits. I thought it might be called Patch Remain, but I can't find that in the manual. I'm sure some V-Drum guru has to know.

What puzzles me about this is that I played on another V-Drum kit with the TD-10 and there was no delay while playing. I could switch between kits without a break in sound. I looked through that module but couldn't find any sort of setting to do that. HMMMM
The mystery continues...
Anyone else care to jump in on this???

Switching kits between songs, or even within one song, can be done rather quickly with the chain function. But - as Redman says - some patches need time to load.
I figured out that patches with the effect processor or room settings ON especially need some (extra) time to load. You hear the reverb unit switching to other settings. Another reason to be sparing with effectsRobert

I am going to try and get on that other kit sometime today or very soon and see how that TD-10 was set up. All I can say, is that when I played on that other V-Drum kit, I could switch kits in the middle of playing without missing a note. That's what has been puzzling me.
I just played on my V-drums to see how long of a delay there is between kits, and I kid you not, this time there was absolutely no delay.
Now this pisses me off even more, because of course it stops happening when I post a topic about it. So now I am going to try and experiment with FX and see what happens.
I'll keep you posted on my adventures with the TD-10 saga.

When I tried to verify it at home, the only kit I got a delay on was the TR-808. But I know I have experienced it on one or two others from time to time. The other V-pro I play seems to do it more often. I just do that slight tap thing to insure I don't have a problem.

I think the manual says that some kits need more time to load than others, notably the electronic-sound-based kits, like the Simmons-style kits, or the ones based on drum machines (808 and 909). I've found that some kits with effects turned on also take time to load.
Just another one of those things...
