  • What happened to my kits?

Ok, I'm sure this question has been asked countless times before but I'll have a go anyway. About a month ago I took delivery of my TD10 Kit. I told myself to be patient & read all the instructions before drumming but I couldn't wait & so connected it all up & started having a play. After a couple of hours I decided to see what this TDW-1 expansion thingie was... ah, it's a bit of kit that has to be installed into my module, I followed the instructions & bingo, 50 new kits & loads of new sounds. Finally THE QUESTION, as I didn't save the original preset drum kits, have I lost them forever?

    cheers, Stuart

Use the search function and you can get all the answers to this. It will tell you how to find the original 50 and plugh the desired kits in to override the ones you do not want. It has been covered dozens of times...Thanks

Stuart, all the Td-10 preset kits are still there. You can COPY them. They are in a kind of shadow memory.

Thanks Puttenvr that's what I needed to know. However another question has arison, I have just created a couple of custom kits which I have placed in my user kits. Have I now lost the original kits that occupied these slots or have they also gone to this shadow memory. Thanks in advance, I shall now scour my user manual for the shadow memory. Cheers, Stuart.

Unless you backed up before you installed the Ex, you lost them.

To backup/copy kits, use a memory card or VKiTrans

I have emailed you a copy of VKitTrans exp beta

Wrong. They are there. They are stored. You only have access to 50 on the wheel. You can access the original 50 using the copy function. You do not need to back those up to have access to them. the search function on this board gives a step by step on how to do this....

Thanks everyone for all your help, I have now found all my kits & my belief that my purchase of the TD10 was the bets thing I ever did has been further strengthened. Whilst I have found this discussions page to be very informative, sometimes using the search function can be very time consuming & involve alot of tail chasing. As I was working with my TD10 last night creating a custom kit I didn't really have the time to troll through all the messages & so took the easy or indeed lazy route. Anyway, thanks again. Stuart.
