Saving/Loading SysEx Data

Can anyone tell me of a particular piece of HARDWARE that they have had no problems with saving and loading SysEx data to and from the TD-8. I ahve been using a laptop and software but I want the portability.

I have had good success with uploading/downloading SysEx files to and from my Triton Rack but I wan't the portability of a battery operated data filer (Yamaha MDF2 or MDF3, for example ) - I don't want to buy such an item until I have heard that someone is using that type of set-up without any problems.
