  • V-cymbol sound assignment preferences!

This may be a stupid question, but i'm not sure what sound to assign to the rim trigger on my new CY-15R.
Do most people assign a completly different sound than the assigned bow or do they tweak the rim sound to be a variation of the bow sound?
Also i've just assigned different sounds to the rims of my crash symbols, so i get 4 different crash sounds, is this how most people do it?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply, not all of the ride cymbols have RD/RDE/RDB, and the sounds i have tried don't sound clear or they also trigger the bow, I'll keep trying.
Plus with the Aux. imput I'm getting 2 sounds on the rim, which means i need to add silence to the Aux. rim.

well,i normally use a ride edge.......but i also use a crash/ride and splashes there too.also,a nice mallet crash goes well in that spot.just to give you some play near the ride.i find i use the edge quite often.HAVE FUN.

I use two CY6s for crashes and assign two different 16" crashes to the inside zones and two different 18" crashes to the edges (usually) giving me 4 different crashes. I use an SE101 for a ride and assign various RdX rides to the inside (giving me a ride and bell) and maybe a tweaked dark crash or or some other similar sound (sometimes a china) to the edge so I can crash the ride.

I usually put a china on the ride edge. But any crash-type sound would do I reckon (stuff that you play with the shoulder of the stick).

I crashed my ride back in 1997. It was a 1995 Celica.

I was definitely over the edge. Way past the tread wear limit on the rear tires! Took the thing for a spin (literally)!
