  • No Xtalk in phones, but thru amp

Hi people. My Hart Dynamics Studio Standard with TD-8 arrived just the other day.

I've been tinkering and tweaking, but have a small issue I'd like help with. When practicing on my own through phones, I don't have crosstalk issues, but when using my amp, I do. I suspect the vibrations are being transmitted through the floor and setting off the triggers. How do I resolve this?

Oh, one other thing ... why does the TD-8 have trigger banks, as in Bank 1, Bank 2, etc.? What purpose does that serve?

Thanks, and Happy New Year to all!!

Sounds like you either have your amp up way too loud or you are practicing on hard wood floors. If so, use a piece of carpet under the drum set and possibly the amp too. What amp are you using?

Trigger banks are for being able to use the module on more than one set of drum pads. I have a set of Pintech mesh pads and Zenbals on my gig set and an old set of rubber pads (PD-9's) on my teaching set. They require different trigger settings to work properly. I use the TD-8 on both sets by using bank 1 and 2 respectively.

Thanks for the answer clymore. I have a concrete floor (in-floor heating), so I guess that's the problem. I've only been using a small mat under the pedals to protect the linoleum. I'll have to get a good chunk of carpet.

The amp wasn't set very loud. The other band members amps weren't overly loud either, but I could feel the vibration in the pads when I put my hand on them while they were playing.

        Ah yes!! Other band members!

The lead guitarist's amp gives me more feedback/crosstalk/vibration problems than any of my own equipment. I think he plays my snare drum as much as I do!!!
