  • Live Sound!

    Hello Everyone!
    I havent been around for quite sometime....things seem to be going pretty well around here in the world of Vdrums.com. I have a few questions for all of you live sound buffs. I am basically looking for a setup that can be used for monitoring my V's as well as serving as a stand alone drum PA for smaller venue's. I have an oppurtunity to pick up some Behringer cab's for a steal! So for the time being that seems to be what I'm going to go with. I have narrowed it down to two configurations, and would like to know your thoughts on each. So if you would be kind enough, please give your thoughts on the following:

    Solution 1:
    Behringer EURORACK MX802A -----> Crown CE1000 -------> (2)Behringer EUROLIVE B1520's (15" Woofer & HF Driver)

    Solution 2:
    Behringer EURORACK MX802A -----> Crown CE1000 -------> (2) Behringer EUROLIVE B1500X 15" Subs (Woofer & Internal Crossover) -------> (2) Behringer EUROLIVE B1220 (12" Woofer & HF Driver)

    Solution 1 is going to be about $200.00 less.
    Just thoughts in general on both configurations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you guys in advance for your time,
    Michael

    Also.....

    The only other thoughts that I had....was that if all I need for a particular gig is a monitor setup....one 1520 should do the job.....where if I go with the Solution 2....I would probably have to bring a B1220 and B1500x sub. Or do you think one 1220 would cut it?

    Thanks again,
    Michael

      Whoa...

      Isn't solution 2 extremely underpowered? I mean you will probably need more juice to run 2-15's and 2 subs... I mean at 4 ohms, you are going to be pushing 450w... That means that each 15 will pull at best 100w. And they operate at an optimal rating of what, 250w?

      I would probably go with the option of MX802A with (2) Ultrawave B300's from Behringer. This will give you 250 a side in powered monitors (good for amping or monitors) as well as the possiblity of adding powered subs later.

      Just my thoughts...
