  • Hart Pro Kick

    Hey Guys,

I recently had to replace my KD-7 with a Pro Kick because my neighbors were complaining about the vibrations from the reverse beater.

Anyway now that i recieved it i am not pleased with the pad. No matter what i try, changing the tuning of the head, using the rubber side of my DW7000 beater, i cannot stop the beater from bouncing on the pad. It is not a simple bounce but small multiple bounces before it comes to a stop.

I never had this porblem with the KD-7 but i did have it with the other upright mesh pad that i used to have with my Pintech kit. Somone suggested that it is my playing that is unorthodox.

I dont see why this should be a problem becasue i play regular kits with various tunnings and i am fine.

P.S. somone suggested adding rubber pads to the mesh head, sounds good i might try it tomorrow but any other suggestions/ideas would be helpful

I experienced the same thing...putting a sticker pad on the head pretty much eliminated it. I also noticed that lowering the beater height may help as well.
    E-drums: TD-20, RT-5S triggers on snare/toms, KD-7s, VH12, CY-14Cs, CY-15R, Pintech splash.
A-drums: Zickos (amber) w/ all Zildjians.

Thanks a bunch i will try that.

Also which sticker pads are you using? Also what types of sticker pads do you suggest any certain brands?

Also how do you tune the head with the pads on them, loose or tight?

I like to use relatively thick beater pads...I think the one I have on now is a Remo. FYI, the kick drum sounds louder than without it on but it is not too bad...try it and see if you like it...
